We believe that happens best in Community Groups. These groups create one of the best environments for a person to grow in their relationship with Jesus and others. So we feel that it is important for you to understand what we mean when it comes to the Community Groups here at Elevation Christian Church.
We make followers of Jesus in relational environments because Jesus did it that way.
Mark 3:14 (Msg) He settled on twelve, and designated them apostles. The plan was that they would be with him, and he would send
them out to proclaim the Word
We need relationship with others because God created us that way.
Genesis 2:18 (NLT) And the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a companion who will help him.”
We need relationship with others to succeed as a follower of Jesus.
Eccles. 4:9-10 (NLT) Two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one; they get a better return for their labor. [10] If one
person falls, the other can reach out and help. But people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble.
Hebrews 3:12-13 (NLT) Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning
you away from the living God. [13] You must warn each other every day, as long as it is called “today,” so that none of you will be
deceived by sin and hardened against God.
We need relationship with others because we can accomplish more together than we can alone.
Romans 12:4-5 (NLT) Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, [5] so it is with Christ’s body. We are
all parts of his one body, and each of us has different work to do. And since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and
each of us needs all the others.
